After a career of service to his country as an Army Officer, John retired from active duty in 2019. When his second career took him to Hawaii during the pandemic to help reopen the islands to tourism and the entertainment industry, he found his second calling. As a life-long devotee of ‘Story,’ he was quickly drawn to helping tell stories that matter. 

He co-founded Story Mill Entertainment with his partners at the tail end of the global COVID pandemic in Columbus, Georgia in 2022. With an eye towards creating a company at the forefront of the industry, Story Mill signed an agreement with the W.C. Bradley Co. to manage Flat Rock Studio, a 240,000 square foot movie and television production facility also located in Columbus. 

John firmly believes that stories are how humanity best communicates. It’s how we learn to empathize with others, and how we share who we are. With that in mind, Story Mill Entertainment is a distinctive media production company dedicated to revolutionizing the entertainment industry by telling compelling stories, discovering new voices and talents, respecting all people equally, and caring for our shared environment.
